Salt Lake Tribune (Nov. 12, 2019) – The owners of Salt Lake City’s Bar X and Beer Bar say they will purchase Holladay’s iconic Cotton Bottom Inn and expand it — promising to maintain the atmosphere of the quintessential neighborhood tavern while also keeping its signature garlic cheeseburgers on the menu.
Utah Now (Nov. 9, 2019) – For more than 50 years the property at 6252 South Holladay Boulevard has been the site of the iconic Cotton Bottom Inn, a small, cozy bar known for its no-frills environment and garlic cheeseburgers. The planned refurbishing is meant to preserve that legacy while bringing new life to the property and maintaining the true spirit of the original.

If you’re not aware, the Cotton Bottom is a tavern located in an area of the City of Holladay known as Knudsen’s Corner (6200 s.). The tavern was originally a general store operated by the Knudsen family until 1966 when Helen Chlepas bought the property and turned the store into a tavern.
